Clyde baseball holds off Mohawk 5-4 Posted on April 6, 2022 0 CLYDE — Mohawk cut Clyde’s early four-run lead to one but got no closer, falling 5-4 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Clyde. After the Warriors (3-4) scored once in the top of the second inning, the Fliers used a five-run bottom of the second to take control. Mohawk got three of the runs back in the fourth. Reese Hannam had two hits and an RBI, while Brayden Cleveland had two hits and two RBIs. Liam Shellhouse doubled and scored a run. Shellhouse (1-1) was the losing pitcher, giving up five runs — four earned — on four hits and five walks with one strikeout in five innings. Jake Coldiron pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Cole Schwochow was the winning pitcher, allowing four runs — one earned — on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Kaiden Olson closed it out in the seventh, giving up a leadoff single to Ryan Dietrich before retiring three in a row with one strikeout. The Warriors play at 5 p.m. today at Bucyrus.
