BUCYRUS — Michael Lee Ritterspach, of Columbiana, passed away April 14, 2023, from a stroke.

He was born May 13,1949, to the late Carey and Betty (Comstock) Ritterspach, 13 minutes ahead of his twin sister, Diana.

He was baptized at Nevada Lutheran Church and later sang in the choir. He graduated from Wynford High School in 1967.

Michael was raised on a small family farm where he learned the value of hard work. He had a keen mind for understanding production and construction processes. He built his first solar panel in the early 1970s. In his 43-plus years with GM, he submitted two separate plans for improving production efficiency, which were implemented at the Lordstown plant. He took pride in single-handedly doing major repairs and maintenance on his home and garage.

His love of Ford cars included beginning a total rebuilding of his ’65 Mustang. Michael also was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Guardians.

He is survived by his children, Jeff, Chad and Nikki; grandchildren; and sisters, Patty, Diana and Sherry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private service at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org or to the charity of one’s choice.
