Patel Smith Posted on August 21, 2023 0 CAREY — The outgoing and loveable social butterfly Patel Jean Smith, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, unexpectedly in her sleep due to complications from a seizure. Visitation is 1-4 and 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey. Burial will take place Saturday in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Father Savio Manavala, OFM, Conv., offering a committal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patel’s honor to the Carey School Band Boosters and can be mailed to the funeral home. Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home is honored to serve Patel’s family.
