Unbeaten Falcons run-rule Rockets 11-1 Posted on April 5, 2024 0 Alex Russler MOUNT BLANCHARD – Alex Russler had a big day at the plate and on the mound to lead Riverdale to an 11-1 run-rule victory against Ridgedale in nonconference baseball play Thursday at Riverdale. Offensively, Russler doubled, singled, drove in four runs and scored twice. As the pitcher, Russler (1-0) gave up just one unearned run on three hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in five innings. The Falcons (4-0) scored three times each in the first and third innings and four times in the fourth inning. After the Rockets scored once in the top of the fifth, the Falcons then scored a run in the bottom of the inning to end the game early. Evan Reiter singled twice and scored two runs, while Lex Weber had two hits, drove in a run and scored once. Jackson Armrose walked twice and scored two runs. Cam Furr singled and scored two runs. Chad Wipperman doubled and scored Ridgedale’s run. Gabe Malo was the losing pitcher, giving up four earned runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts in four innings.
