Mohawk celebrating 50 years of softball Posted on May 2, 2024 0 SYCAMORE — This spring marks the 50th anniversary of the Mohawk softball program, and the team will celebrate with the Mohawk Athletic Boosters hosting a reunion event Saturday. The Warriors face Bucyrus at 11 a.m. that morning, but festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. They include speeches from a few local dignitaries, performances from the Mohawk marching band, and a first-pitch ceremony featuring the 1974 team and coach Vicki Parker. As the game progresses, other milestone moments from the past will be highlighted between innings and facts about the history of Mohawk softball will be featured. After the game and an alumni picture featuring all who attend is taken, the boosters will provide a luncheon at the Mohawk Community Center for players and coaches and a short program will follow.
