The Rams won both doubles matches and got a 6-3, 7-5 win from Holden Daris against Cooper Kent in the No. 1 singles match. “Holden really had to play a different type of match against Galion’s Cooper Kent, who did a great job of changing the pace of the ball,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said. “Those two have competed against each other for years in basketball and tennis, and it was a great match to watch.” Abe Baldwin and Owen Gottfried downed Luke Tinnermeier and Carson Walker 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 1 doubles match, and in the No. 2 match, it was Daniel Engle and Jackson Gottfried beating Logan Estep and Zach Moneysmith 6-2, 6-0. “Our doubles teams seem to have hit their stride as we head toward sectionals,” Frazee said. “Abe and Owen are still working some things out as they adjust to play doubles, but they’re having fun doing it, and that makes it fun for us as coaches.” Galion’s Jack Rinehart won the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-1 over Avery Gill, and in the No. 3 match, Ben Reinhart blanked RJ Dennis 6-0, 6-0.
