William Castanien Posted on December 10, 2024 0 William J. (Bill) Castanien died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at the CHP Hospice in Defiance. There will be a reception from 12-6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John UCC in Defiance for friends’ remembrances. A funeral service for William Castanien is 1 p.m. Friday at Emanuel UCC located at 13989 TH 127, Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by his niece and nephew-in-law Pastors Margaret and Jerry O’Brien. Visitations is for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, where military honors will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to CHP Defiance In Hospice Care Center or Wounded Warriors, and may be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
