Wynford holds off Seneca East without Smith at QB

BUCYRUS — It was an inspired performance for Wynford on Friday night in honor of injured quarterback Wyatt Smith. The senior stood on the sidelines on crutches hours after having surgery to repair a broken leg suffered in last week’s loss to Lima Central Catholic providing a needed spark to help the Royals clinch sole ownership of first-place in the Northern 10 with a 31-13 dispatching of Seneca East.

When Upper Sandusky decided it was going to win, it made it happen. The Rams overcame a slow start to dominate the second and third sets before closing things out in the fourth set of a 21-25, 25-14, 25-9, 25-22 victory against Wynford on Tuesday night.
