The Wyandot County Community Foundation awarded $11,472 in grants at its awards ceremony breakfast Friday morning at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Representatives of nonprofit or governmental units receiving an award shared how their grant will be used.
BUCYRUS — Another year, another league championship for Wynford. Led by their defense, the Royals clinched at least a share of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship and improved to 31-0 all-time in the league with a 34-0 victory against Upper Sandusky on Friday night.

CAREY — Playing a sectional final match against a team with only a handful of losses on the season is tough enough. Carey complicated things further with its own errors Thursday night, but it overcame them to take a 25-20, 26-28, 25-14, 25-20 victory against Hardin Northern.
The Steer Barn has been an Upper Sandusky landmark for over a century, and it has received some major renovations over the summer and early fall to get modernized. An open house is planned for Monday from noon to 7 p.m. with appetizers and drinks to showcase the new and improved facility. An auction will take place at 1 p.m.
ROSSFORD — Upper Sandusky and Rossford entered Wednesday night’s match with identical records in similarly challenging volleyball leagues. The difference in the Division II sectional semifinal was the Bulldogs’ Megan Dunne. The junior powered 27 kills and added six aces to help No. 6 seed Rossford hold off the No. 9 Rams, 15-25, 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 15-3.
