More than 120 children and teens age 16 and younger cast their rods in the pond at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky early Saturday morning in hopes of catching a fish during Wyandot County Rod and Gun Club’s annual fishing derby.
Many area children enjoyed the many fun activities at the St. Peter Festival held this weekend.
More than 75 dog owners brought their fur babies out for Wyandot County Humane Society’s 15th annual Pawzfest dog walk and fun day Sunday at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. That is the most in the history of the event.

FOREST — World War II was calling the young men throughout the nation in the early 1944, and Stan Spath answer that call at the age of 17. With his friends leaving for the Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy, the high school junior was determined to join them. He thought hard about his options, Spath said.
