BUCYRUS — The Wynford Board of Education approved a pair of resolutions to send a pair of renewal levies to the electorate during Wednesday’s meeting. The first levy is for current operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 6.90 mills and the second provides for the emergency requirements of the school district in the sum of $350,000 for three years.

MARION — Upper Sandusky dominated the River Valley Invitational swim meet Wednesday evening at W. Keith Davis Natatorium at the Marion YMCA. The Rams girls topped Jonathan Alder for first, 161-90, while the Rams boys were 217-57 winners over River Valley.

Devin Manns tried his hardest to overcome the nerves and anxiety in the heat of the moment. It was in the evening on Jan. 2 at Wyandot Lanes in Upper Sandusky. Manns had thrown 11 strikes and was one strike away from the first perfect game of his career.

Fitness Elite is under new ownership. Keith and Lana Montgomery purchased the Upper Sandusky gym from friends in mid-December and celebrated the new business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning at the gym’s location on 505 W. Wyandot Ave.

Fittingly, on the night Upper Sandusky senior guard Abigail Fogle surpassed Clare Aubry for second on the Upper Sandusky girls basketball all-time scoring list, Fogle hit the shots that put the Rams ahead for good in their 55-43 victory against Colonel Crawford.

ATTICA — With a trio of players averaging in double figures, Seneca East has been one of the top offensive teams in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. Carey found a way to slow down the Tigers and reached the midway point in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play in a three-way tie for first place by taking a 58-41 victory on Tuesday night in Attica.

CAREY — Carey Exempted Village School District Board of Education members on Monday swore in new board member Jason Arend and elected and swore in Greg McCartney as president and Mike Roszman as vice president. Arend is replacing long-tenured school board member Mark Armstrong, who was on the school board for 20 years.

Mayor Scott Washburn recommended naming the new basketball courts at Bicentennial Park after the late Robby Lee at Monday’s Upper Sandusky Park Board meeting.

McCUTCHENVILLE — A McCutchenville man and his daughter were killed early Saturday morning in a house fire on the 1900 block of Ohio 53. A press release states the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Lisa Stock, 34, reporting that her house was on fire.
