Veterans organization ready to present plans for WWI monument to park board

The Veterans Heritage Foundation of Wyandot County is ready to present its latest proposal for the World War I monument at Bicentennial Park to the Upper Sandusky Park Board. Attendees of the Thursday Evening at the Museum program got an early look at the plans, as members of the local heritage foundation presented Thursday’s program at the Wyandot County Museum.

The Wyandot County 4-H awards night recently took place for select projects in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. Members were judged on their 4-H projects June 27-28 in the categories of woodworking, cake decorating, electricity, pets, clothing, sewing and more.

Fire destroys Upper Sandusky home

No one was injured in a structure fire that decimated the TH 58 residence of an Upper Sandusky couple Sunday. According to a press release from the Upper Sandusky Fire Department, firefighters responded to 12491 TH 58 at 7:14 a.m. for a fully involved structure fire and executed a “defensive attack.”

The Sycamore Community Pool passed its final inspection at 11 a.m. Friday, opened at 1 p.m. and had its first handful of customers around 1:30 p.m. under mostly sunny skies.
