A semitrailer driver was transported to Wyandot Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on U.S. 30 east of U.S. 23. Jacob M. Bland, 24, of King George, Vermont, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 about 100 feet east of the U.S. 23 interchange at 10:11 a.m. when he went off the right side of the roadway and drove through several pieces of guardrail and down an embankment, according to a report by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

A key word in mental health services this month is one that carries a lot of weight, but not more so than the weight carried by recovering addicts as they work to improve themselves and overcome one of the most difficult challenges of their lives. National Recovery Month is celebrated in September across the U.S., and while news stories covering punishment are common, the opportunity to shed light on another side of addiction — recovery — does not present itself so often.

Marijuana eradication nets 54 pot plants across county

Eradication efforts

Fifty-four marijuana plants and a pair of guns were among the items confiscated during pot eradication efforts in Wyandot County on Friday. A Butler County chopper flew around the county to search for marijuana plants, joining Wyandot County Sheriff’s deputies, Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents, the Wyandot County Prosecutor’s Office and the METRICH Enforcement Unit, throughout the day Friday.
