NEVADA — Firefighters from at least three area departments quickly extinguished the flames in a pole barn fire Friday night at 10751 TH 133 in rural Nevada. No injuries were reported as the Wyandot East Fire District received assistance from the Sycamore and Upper Sandusky fire departments at the scene of the blaze that started around 10 p.m.

The variety show concert took place at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church and included seasonal favorites, from classic Christmas songs to Amy Grant’s popular “Grown-Up Christmas List.”

ATTICA — When a team scores more than 100 points, it is easy to think it was because of great offense — and it probably was in part — but defense led the way for Upper Sandusky on Thursday night in its 108-48 win at Seneca East.

A Christmas home tour in Upper Sandusky will feature three residences and two churches in an event Sunday to benefit next year’s Recognizing and Enriching All Children classes. REACH offers free courses for youth from Wyandot County and the surrounding area in a variety of topics on Saturday mornings in April.

As tradition goes, the holiday season is accompanied by adages of joy and the gift of giving. For local law enforcement officials, that meant giving back to the community. On Wednesday, the Upper Sandusky Police Department partnered with Walmart and the Elks for its annual Shop with a Cop program benefiting area youth.
