The Rotary Club of Upper Sandusky invites the community to its third annual pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Dec. 9 in the cafeteria/gymnasium of John Stewart United Methodist Church and run by local Rotarians with assistance from the area Boy Scouts.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced several upcoming events. Wild Wednesdays is 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center, 2401 Ohio 598.

HARPSTER — The Scioto Ridge Boys will be featured in a gospel concert as part of a Blue Christmas service at 6 p.m. Sunday at Harpster United Methodist Church, 17508 Cherokee St., Harpster. The group features Mark Snider, Barry Weaver, Bob Houston and Bob Joseph.

This year’s Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Upper Sandusky Ministerial Association, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Emanuel United Church of Christ. Also known as “The Mud Church,” Emanuel is located at 13989 TH 127 at the corner of CH 59.

This week, millions of Americans will be out on the roads, headed toward big bargains, food-filled family get-togethers, and in Ohio, the big game. Thanksgiving weekend, which runs from 6 p.m. Wednesday through 5:59 a.m. Monday, is one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

BUCYRUS — The Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. The nature center will be open for visitors from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 12-4 p.m. Sunday.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday in observance of Thanksgiving. The card catalog is available anytime at www.forestlibrary.org.
