Composting certification course offered on Jan. 14

BUCYRUS — A mortality composting certification course will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the lower level conference room at the Crawford County Courthouse, 112 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus. Reservations are required by Jan. 12 for the course that certifies attendees in mortality composting.

Humane Society: December 22, 2015

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Dec. 17 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the previous report that have not been found include an old black neutered male pug that is blind and deaf, a neutered male buff color cat and a white and brindle neutered male pit bull with a microchip.

Caldwell, Seeger wed

Lauren E. Caldwell and Karl M. Seeger were married Oct. 10, 2015 at Historic Cedarwood, Nashville, Tennesee with the Rev. Stephen Seymour officiating. The bride is a daughter of Brian and Nancy Caldwell, Marion, and a granddaughter of Robert and Phyllis Caldwell, Upper Sandusky, and Betty McVan, Akron, and the late Lawrence McVan.

OLC to celebrate Christmas with masses Thursday, Friday

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation is celebrating the birth of Christ with three Christmas Masses Thursday and Friday. The Christmas Eve 5:30 p.m. Mass begins with a pageant on the nativity story by the Sunday Bible school class of the parish, starting at 5:15 p.m.

USCL closed for the holidays

The Upper Sandusky Community Library will close at 1 p.m. Dec. 24 and remain closed Dec. 25 for Christmas. The library also will close at 1 p.m. Dec. 31 for the New Year’s holiday.

Meeting minutes: December 21, 2015

The Sycamore Lions Club and the Mohawk Lioness club met recently for their annual joint Christmas Party at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Lions president Linda Warren welcomed all who attended and the table prayer was given by Larry Bennett before the group shared a dinner prepared and served by the Wyandot County rehab staff.

Blood drive slated for Mohawk Community Library on Dec. 28

TOLEDO — There often is a greater need for blood donations this time of year when holiday festivities, severe weather and seasonal illnesses can keep regular donors from giving. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to be part of something meaningful this holiday season by giving blood to hospital patients in need.
