New club starting at MCL

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library is starting a new movie club for patrons of all ages. To participate, patrons are invited to attend any eight of the family movie nights from October through March and be entered to win a night out at a movie theater.

Red Cross blood drive this month

TOLEDO — There often is a greater need for blood donations this time of year when holiday festivities, severe weather and seasonal illnesses can keep regular donors from giving. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to be part of something meaningful this holiday season by giving blood to hospital patients in need.

Red Cross volunteer training set

The American Red Cross of Wyandot County will host a new volunteer open house and workshop from 1-4 p.m. Monday for people interested in becoming Red Cross volunteers. The event will be held in the board room at the Upper Sandusky Community Library, 301 N. Sandusky Ave.

Ministers urge ‘pause for prayer’

In the wake of the latest mass violence in the United States, the Upper Sandusky Ministerial Association has announced plans for a “pause for prayer.” This Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., all churches and congregations are invited to stop their worship activities and be led in five minutes of prayer by their pastor or other leaders, followed by all churches ringing their bells at 10:35 a.m.
