MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale FFA Chapter is holding a 5K on Nov. 7 to support American soldiers. Registration is $10. All registration also includes a donation of at least two items for soldier care packages to be collected the day of the 5K.

Organizers of A Perfect Piece art show and sale will host their first Christmas show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Shawshank Woodshop, 228 S. Eighth St., Upper Sandusky. The event will include local artists, crafters and musicians in the historic Shawshank Woodshop.

MARION — The 27th annual Harding Mistletoe craft show is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at Harding High School, 1500 Harding Highway E., Marion. More than 120 craft exhibitors on one floor make up one of the largest craft shows in central Ohio.

TIFFIN — The Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio will host an educational conference Dec. 7 at Allen Eiry Center, 28 Hopewell Ave., Tiffin.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale High School National Honor Society is inviting local veterans to the school’s annual Veterans Day assembly at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 11 in the school gymnasium.

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Frost-Kalnow Room of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.

FINDLAY — The American Red Cross will host a card-making party as part of its Holiday Mail for Heroes program from 5-7 p.m. Nov. 19 at Beca House, 128 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky. Supplies for making cards will be provided.

Ghouls and goblins soon will take over the night in search of candy treats, prompting several local organizations to share safety tips for Halloween festivities. The American Red Cross of North Central Ohio, which is based in Findlay and includes Wyandot County, shared its “Lucky 13” tips for keeping families safe this holiday season.

October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month. In light of this observance, I would like to bring awareness to the issue of postpartum depression.

The Upper Sandusky Community Library has announced its slate of events for the month of November. The Knotty Hookers crochet club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 3 and 17 at the library.
