CAREY — The Dorcas-Carey Public Library has announced a slate of activities for the month of October. The library will be closed Monday in observance of Columbus Day. After school bunch is offered at 3:15 p.m. Tuesdays.

The Wyandot County Health Department is offering offering seasonal influenza vaccines for the 2015-2016 flu season at several locations in October. Vaccination clinics are scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Sycamore Community Center; and 2-6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Nevada Fire Hall.

Amy and Kristopher Davidson, of Bucyrus, are the parents of a girl, Dayzie Anna Davidson. She was born at 12:38 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 13.5 ounces and was 19 inches long. The maternal grandparents are Gearldene Miller and Lonnie Miller.

Kyleigh Leslie and Jason Ray, both of Marion, are the parents of a boy, Jason Darell Ray Jr. He was born at 9:16 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.  

SYCAMORE — Twenty students from Mohawk Junior High School recently were inducted as members of the National Junior Honor Society during an afternoon ceremony at the school. Following the ceremony, the new members and their families were treated to punch and cake in the school cafeteria.

A fall festival will take place Saturday at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. The Mohawk Lioness Club will sell doughnuts beginning at 7 a.m., while a craft show and garage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost for vendors is $10 per booth.

The 2015 Upper Sandusky High School yearbooks are in and may be picked up during the school day in the high school office. Contact the office ahead of time if the person picking up the book is not the person whose name the book is listed as being ordered under.

OLD FORT — Upper Sandusky’s Madelyn Shasteen was 10th in 20:03.79 to lead area runners Saturday in the Old Fort Invitational.

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital will offer its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support people from 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 21-22 in the board room next to the cafeteria on the hospital’s lower level.

CAREY — A Cinderella party will be offered at the Dorcas Carey Public Library from 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 10 for girls ages 3-5. Another party will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 for girls ages 6-8.
