Area receives federal navigator grant for insurance

TOLEDO — The Ohio Association of Foodbanks and its network of strategic consortium members recently was awarded a federal navigator grant by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The $2 million grant will allow the statewide consortium to provide navigator services throughout Ohio, educating consumers about affordable health care coverage options and helping them to enroll in plans available through the federally-facilitated Health Insurance Marketplace.

OLC bake sale slated

CAREY — New pies and breads will be back by popular demand when the Our Lady of Consolation National Shrine volunteer bakery holds a sale Saturday and Sunday. The bakery, under the direction of the Rev. Paul Faroh, again will be offering Fruit of the Farm pie with rhubarb, blackberries, strawberries and red raspberries and double-crusted strawberry pies along with rhubarb, strawberry-rhubarb and a number of other fruit pies.

Hardin County field day scheduled

KENTON — “Agricultural Conservation, Protecting Water: Keeping Soil and Nutrients in the Field” will be the theme of the free Hardin County field day Sept. 18. The event will begin at the Jerry McBride farm, located at 11312 CR 60, Dola, at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 1:30 p.m. with a complimentary lunch.

Sydney Elizabeth Raisor

Gretchen Raisor, of Upper Sandusky, and Cody Raisor, of Cincinnati, are the parents of a girl, Sydney Elizabeth Raisor. She was born at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2015 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
