County businesses honored for maintaining safety

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation honored 18 local employers for reaching one year without workplace injuries or illnesses that kept workers away from work for more than a day. The employers, members of the Wyandot County Safety Council, received BWC’s 100% Award during the Safety Council’s annual awards ceremony April 18.

Grasz leaving Chamber of Commerce

Wyandot Chamber of Commerce President Kathy Grasz publicly announced she will be stepping down from her position Tuesday. “What a wonderful life experience to serve as your Chamber President these past eight years,” Grasz wrote in an email. “I have said enthusiastically many times, ‘I Love My Job!’ mainly because of the incredible members and the community I have grown to know and love."

Walmart accepting applications for open call for US products

Mercer promoted at Wyandot Memorial

Matt Mercer, R.N., of Upper Sandusky, has been promoted to director of emergency department services at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Mercer manages the staff members working in the emergency department and is responsible for the day-to-day operations in collaboration with the department’s medical director, James Cohen, M.D. Mercer has a special interest in process improvement and patient satisfaction.
