HARPSTER — Robert “Bob” Brewer will seek a third term on the Pitt Township Board of Trustees during the Nov. 3 election, with a challenger, Frederick F. Wagner, also looking to fill the open seat. Wagner did not return a Daily Chief-Union questionnaire mailed to candidates appearing on the November ballot.

SYCAMORE — A renewal levy on the Nov. 3 ballot will ask residents of Sycamore to continue to provide general funding for the village. The 6-mill levy generates $33,377 per year for the village of Sycamore.

While many Wyandot County candidates will seek seats on various councils, school boards and other positions on the Nov. 3 ballot, a large number of candidates also is running unopposed. Among them are candidates for the city of Upper Sandusky.

CAREY — Carey Council president Chad Kin is running against incumbent Steve Smalley for the mayor’s seat in the Nov. 3 election. Both candidates received questionnaires from The Daily Chief-Union and provided written responses for this election preview.

NEVADA — Four candidates are seeking two open seats on Nevada Council, though all could end up serving. In addition to the two open seats, two seats could be vacated.

SYCAMORE — An appointed fiscal officer for Sycamore Township will run for her first full term against a prospective newcomer to office during the Nov. 3 election. Diane S. Parsell, who was appointed to the position Dec. 1, 2013 to fill the remaining unexpired term of Carol Beard, will face Debra L. Boes in the election.

Voters are being asked to support a permanent improvements levy for the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District on the Nov. 3 ballot in the first property tax request since 1986.

A voters forum will be offered from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 14 in the auditorium at Upper Sandusky High School. Information will be presented on candidates and levy proposals on the Nov. 3 ballot, as well as Ohio Issue 1, 2 and 3. There will be a question-and-answer session following presentations. The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners has passed a resolution supporting state Issue I on the Nov. 3 ballot. The amendment, if approved by voters, would create a new bipartisan redistricting commission and establish new requirements for drawing legislative districts in Ohio.
