Marion Palace Theatre has variety of January shows

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre is offering theater-goers a diverse entertainment schedule for audience members of all ages and interests this January. Shows include an ensemble of professional instrumentalists performing alongside local students, a mind-blowing 4-D concert experience and a show-stopping performance with bluegrass music’s vocal group of the year.

Heidelberg to have ‘Santaland Diaries’

TIFFIN — Heidelberg University’s School of Music and Theatre will present “Santaland Diaries,” a collection of fanciful stories by humorist David Sedaris, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gundlach Theatre. “Santaland Diaries” is being performed as a one-man show by Heidelberg adjunct music instructor and guest artist David Cotter.

UF Orchestra to present ‘Story of Winter’

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Orchestra will present “The Story of Winter” at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium. The performance is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts’ box office at 200 W. Main Cross St., by calling the box office at 419-423-2787, or by visiting marathoncenterarts.org.

‘Heidelberg Christmas Carol’ slated

TIFFIN — Heidelberg University’s School of Music and Theatre will reimagine the Charles Dickens’ classic for its annual holiday concert, “A Heidelberg Christmas Carol,” at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Ritz Theatre for the Performing Arts. “A Heidelberg Christmas Carol” is a two-part celebration of holiday stories both new and old, featuring the sights, sounds and songs of the season by School of Music and Theatre ensembles, large and small.

Hidelberg University Theatre to present ‘Little Women: The Musical’ this weekend

TIFFIN — In keeping with the season theme of “Keep Calm and Women On,” Heidelberg University Theatre will present “Little Women: The Musical” from today through Sunday in Gundlach Theatre. Under the direction of Stephen Svoboda, “Little Women: The Musical” is from playwright Allen Knee and composer Jason Howard with lyrics by Mindi Dickson.

Friday Night Live set at Ritz

TIFFIN — Friday Night Live at the Ritz will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the National Theatre at The Ritz, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. November’s artists include OCMEA Vocal Ensemble of Tiffin; Timber Run, a Roots/Americana trio featuring Tyler Chaffee, Weston Niedermier and Ethan Ruffing of Attica; and Jim Gill, a singer and songwriter from Cleveland.
