ONU putting on play ‘Picnic’

ADA — Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “Picnic” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18-20 and 2 p.m. Feb. 20 and 21. William Inge’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Picnic” is set in an idyllic small town in Kansas with two houses, one backyard and change in the air.

Concert at Heritage Christian

FOREST — Heritage Christian Union Church, 15738 Ohio 37, Forest, is kicking off its winter concert series at 7 p.m. Sunday. Family and friends are invited for an evening of fellowship and music.

Palace staging ‘Charlotte’s Web’

MARION — Generations of readers have fallen in love with Wilbur the pig and his wise arachnid friend, Charlotte, in the storybook “Charlotte’s Web.” Now, the Marion Palace Theatre is set to bring the story to life on stage. Featuring a cast of 29 local youth, the theater will present its first junior stage play for performances at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 19 and 20 and 2 p.m. Feb. 21.

Findlay Playhouse doing ‘Much Ado’

FINDLAY — The Fort Findlay Playhouse celebrates two anniversaries this year: its 60th season and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. It has been over 30 years since the Playhouse has produced Shakespeare, and that time comes to an end with the comedy “Much Ado About Nothing” running Feb. 18-21 and 25-27.

Ratliff returning to Marion for final solo performance

MARION — Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Ryan J. Ratliff performs as The Piano Man on Feb. 13 at the Marion Palace Theatre. La Rue native and Broadway veteran Ratliff returns to the Palace as often as possible to entertain his hometown fans, appearing in productions such as “Forever Plaid,” “Hairspray,” “Christmas at the Palace,” “Boardwalk Boys” and most recently starring in the February 2014 production of “Decades.”

Illusionist doing show at Ohio Northern

ADA — Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “The Jason Bishop Show” at 4 p.m. Saturday. Bishop is an international award-winning illusionist who was the youngest person to win the Magician’s Alliance of Eastern States Stage Award and one of the youngest people to compete in the Society of American Magicians World-Class competition.
