Upper Sandusky FFA honored at state convention The Upper Sandusky FFA recently traveled to the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus for the 91st Ohio State FFA Convention. It was a successful year for the Upper Sandusky FFA and that success was showcased during the state convention as members were recognized and winners named from the chapter. FFA member Alec Ogg was elected to serve as one of the 2019-2020 state FFA officers. Ogg had to go through a series of interviews and was named by the nominating committee during the state convention as one of the 11 officers serving the Ohio FFA for the coming year. Read More
Upper Sandusky FFA competes in national contest On May 2, more than 700 4-H and FFA members from 34 states competed in the 68th annual National Land and Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma with the Upper Sandusky FFA representing two of those teams from Ohio. Read More
Boes named Star Farmer Montgomery “Monte” Boes wants to make a living as a farmer, helping to feed the world. His goal has been helped along by his family and his hard work. That goal and his hard work in high school enabled him to achieve one of the highest recognitions that the State FFA Association can bestow upon its members, that of Star Farmer in Ohio. Read More

Royals have annual banquet BUCYRUS — The Wynford FFA Chapter held its annual FFA banquet April 11. The banquet began with a potluck meal in the high school gymnasium. Students handed out door prizes to guests given by our local businesses. Read More
Funding available to seed hay for forage through this month The Ohio Department of Agriculture, in partnership with Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District, is providing funding for farmers to establish forages for hay production to protect water quality in the western basin of Lake Erie. The Ohio Working Lands program provides incentive payments to producers to establish, maintain and harvest forage and hay lands on eligible cropland acres. This one-time sign up ends this May. Upper teams competing in nationals The Upper Sandusky FFA ag and urban soils teams will compete in a national competition in Oklahoma City on Thursday, pitting their soil judging skills against teams from across the United States. Participating teams qualify for the national event by placing among the top five teams at contests held in their home states. The teams match skills in judging the adaptability of land for various purposes including farming, range management and homesite construction. Read More
FFA students place in environmental event WILBERFORCE — The Environmental and Natural Resources Career Development Event allows the top natural resource teams in the state to compete as a team against each other for the opportunity to represent Ohio at the national level. Read More
Upper FFA hosts 32nd Parent-Member Banquet The Upper Sandusky FFA recently hosted its 82nd annual Parent-Member Banquet to celebrate the achievements of the FFA and its members over the past year. More than 400 members, community figures and parents came to support the program. Read More
Ag Week poster contest winner named Each year, the area’s agricultural community and area businesses celebrate National Agriculture Week during the month of March. This year National Ag Week was held March 10–16. The Wyandot County Ag Week Steering Committee sponsored a poster contest for the fourth graders in Wyandot County with the theme “Farmers Lead the Way.” Read More
