Free family camping set

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District will offer free family tent camping beginning at 7 p.m. July 29 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598. Families are invited to come any time after 5 p.m. to pitch their tents around the pond at the park.

Area dairy producers encouraged to enroll in insurance program

COLUMBUS — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency in Ohio recently announced dairy producers can enroll for 2017 coverage in the Margin Protection Program for Dairy starting July 1. The voluntary program, established by the 2014 farm bill, provides financial assistance to participating dairy producers when the margin — the difference between the price of milk and feed costs — falls below the coverage level selected by the producer.

SWCD supervisors to be elected

Two supervisors will be elected at the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual banquet Aug. 25 to serve three years beginning in January. Each county soil and water conservation district in Ohio is governed by a board of five local supervisors.
