New counselor hired at Firelands

Scott Williams

SANDUSKY — Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services is welcoming Scott Williams, LPCC-S, to work in the Upper Sandusky and Tiffin branches providing mental health and substance abuse services. In Tiffin, he will be facilitating the intensive outpatient program involving the patient in a weekly, nine-hour process designed to support them with their recovery from alcohol or other drug addiction.

Upper school board hears dress code, heat concerns

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools Board of Education heard from concerned students and parents about the dress code and issues with heat and air conditioning during its meeting on Monday. Heat indexes were in the upper 90s the final week of August, causing many schools in the state to close, although Upper Sandusky schools remained open.
