A special ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon in front of Upper Sandusky High School to support organ donors. Lifeline of Ohio recognized the family of Jason and Lauren Morris and their son, Luke, who was saved by a liver transplant on Feb. 27, 2016.

HARPSTER — A case was made for public transportation in Wyandot County at the mayor’s breakfast Tuesday morning at Harpster United Methodist Church. Todd Dilley, chairperson of the Wyandot County Coordinated Transportation Coalition discussed the opportunity.

CAREY — The Carey Exempted Village Schools Board of Education approved a resolution to permit the Carey Athletic Boosters to proceed with work on the proposed baseball and softball fields located on school district property at the board’s meeting Monday night.

CAREY — Carey Village Council approved an ordinance to enter into a contract, following execution of the approved secure financing agreement, for the purchase and installation of the proposed Eaton advanced meter infrastructure system complete with all communication and data management equipment at a special meeting Monday.

ONTARIO — The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. recently announced James Gatchell has been selected as the 2018 Outstanding Senior Citizen for Wyandot County. He and eight other recipients were honored on Aug. 23 at a ceremony hosted at Hawkins Corner.

Melinda De La Rosa, Toledo, charged by the Carey police with obstruction of official business and possession of drug paraphernalia, pretrial held, continued to Oct. 8. Shirley L. Golden, Fostoria, charged by the police with petty theft, appeared for sentencing, found guilty.
