BUCYRUS — Wynford Local School District announced a new varsity boys basketball coach Thursday at its board of education meeting. Steve Mohr, who coached the team three seasons ago before retiring in 2015, agreed to return and helm the 2018-19 squad.

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities passed three resolutions during its regular meeting Thursday evening. The first resolution was for annual wage/salary adjustment.

WHARTON — The Wyandot Area Ham Operators Organization, WAHOO will join other Ham radio operators across the USA participating in an emergency simulation drill on Saturday. Despite the Internet, cell phones, email and modern communications, every year whole regions find themselves in the dark from Tornadoes, fires, storms and ice.

Bonnie Wolfe is hosting the annual art exhibit of her students from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at her studio, located at 10627 CH 91, Upper Sandusky. This year’s exhibit, featuring the art of 40 students and will include inks, oils, watercolors and acrylics.

Kalmbach Feeds Inc. celebrated its new bulk feed plant with an open house for clients, sponsors and area community members on Thursday. The Ruth Elizabeth Kalmbach (REK) Facility, named after the matriarch of the company, is located on CH 44 between U.S. 23 and Ohio 199.

John Elchert has been named the director of therapy services at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Elchert’s department includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and audiology, and the staff members care for both inpatients and outpatients.

FINDLAY — Brian Edler has come a long way since beginning his career as a delivery driver. The local business owner of 18 Domino’s stores located in Findlay and surrounding areas, was awarded the esteemed International Franchise Association Gold Franny Award for operational excellence.

Proudly displayed behind the cash register at Woods Antiques ‘N More in Upper Sandusky is a baseball bat engraved “Best Sponsors in Baseball.” The bat was awarded to Janice and Irv Woods by coach Andy Shepherd’s team of kindergartners through second graders following the 2017 season.

Crews were hard at work removing the derailed train cars from the track south of McCutchenville on Tuesday.

The Upper Sandusky FFA gave children a chance to pet a variety of animals during the Petting Zoo on Tuesday at the Upper Sandusky Community Library.
