Melissa A. Layne, Upper Sandusky, charged by the Carey police with possession of open beer in a motor vehicle, continued to May 17. Jacob D. Hutson, Wayne, charged by the Carey police with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment, pleaded guilty, found guilty.

Many departments around the state are switching to SUVs, which have significantly more room on the interior for all the extra equipment officers need for the job.

Fourth- and fifth-graders from South Elementary race to the finish line after completing their portion of the walk-a-thon fundraiser Friday. The walk-a-thon raised $3,100, which put the South School Parent Team over its yearly $33,620 fundraising goal for handicap-accessible playground equipment.
