McCUTCHENVILLE — The Wyandot County Historical Society met Monday with the county commissioners and a representative from UIS Insurance at the Overland Inn. The Overland Inn was originally built in 1829 as a stagecoach stop on the Harrison Trail.

The Upper Sandusky Safety Committee heard a presentation from area student Olivia Barth Monday during its regularly scheduled meeting. Barth proposed changing the intersection at Fourth Street and Bigelow Street from a two-way stop to a four-way stop, citing safety concerns.

CAREY — On Monday, Carey Village council approved an ordinance authorizing and directing the village administrator to enter into a purchase agreement with Carey Ford LLC, doing business as Wagner Ford, for the purchase of three pickup trucks at below state term pricing without formal bidding and advertising.

The Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center held a special Mother’s Day dinner Monday for female residents. Over 50 moms and daughters came out for the event and they were allowed to keep the flower centerpieces.

A local nonprofit paranormal investigation group is hosting a public investigation for a good cause. JARS Paranormal will hold two public investigations of the Cinderella Brown house on Ohio 199 from 6:30-9 p.m. and from 9:30 p.m. to midnight Friday.

Open Door Resource Center held a Cinco de Mayo Mexican buffet Saturday at its location in Upper Sandusky.

While most offices are unopposed for primary season, three Republicans are vying for the 87th District Representative position in advance of Tuesday’s election. Riordan McClain is the incumbent. McClain was unanimously selected in January by a House panel to fill the vacancy left by Wesley Goodman, who resigned last November following a scandal.

Dustin W. Lanagan, Carey, charged by the Carey police with two counts of petty theft, resisting arrest and obstruction of official business, pretrial held, continued to May 21. Matthew S. Levering, Upper Sandusky, charged by the state with four counts of violating a protective order, final pretrial held, continued to May 21.
