Firelands gets grant for medication to help people overcome drug abuse

A significant amount of help is on the way for people struggling with the opioid epidemic in Wyandot County. A federal grant will provide the medication Vivitrol at the Firelands location in Upper Sandusky for people wishing to overcome an opioid addiction through Targeted Capacity Expansion: Medication Assisted Treatment - Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction Program.

Senior Connection hosted a special Italian dinner party Wednesday titled “A Taste of Tuscany.” Attendees enjoyed Italian-themed appetizers, soup, salad, a dinner of lasagna, ravioli and chicken fettuccine followed by a desert of fruit with cheesecake cupcakes.

AgCredit declares patronage refund of 30.03 percent in ’17

FOSTORIA — One of northern Ohio’s largest lenders for farmers, rural homeowners and agribusiness recently declared a patronage refund of 30.03 percent for 2017, resulting in $24.1 million refunded to its member borrowers. This patronage payment provides a refund to the lending cooperative’s shareholders of 30 cents for every dollar they accrued in interest on their loans for the past year.
