CAREY — The Carey Exempted Village Schools Board of Education on Monday approved a five-year contract for superintendent Mike Wank. Wank’s new contract runs from Aug. 1, 2018 through July 31, 2023. He has served as Carey’s superintendent since Mark Vehre retired in 2013. Prior to that, he was the superintendent at Seneca East Local Schools, Attica, for 15 years.

A Mansfield woman pleaded guilty to a reduced drug charge in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday. Elizabeth M. Whitson, 41, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated possession of drugs.

Members of North Central Electric Cooperative now can purchase solar power from the cooperative’s new OurSolar program, which was introduced to members at their annual meeting June 13 at the Seneca County Fairgrounds in Tiffin.

Elected officials participated in the annual soil and water conservation tour July 10. Each year the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District organizes the event to show elected officials projects that have involved district staff.

Wyandot County Commissioners on Monday accepted a $92,900 bid from Damschroder Roofing Inc. to complete the second phase of a roofing project at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
