MOUNT BLANCHARD — It was a hard sell for the engineers of Stantec Corporation to convince the more than 200 people who met at Riverdale High School on Tuesday night that their proposal for mitigating the flood threats to the city of Findlay was a good idea.

A Bellevue woman was sentenced to two years of community control for burglary charges Tuesday. Kristina L. Halm, 23, last month pleaded guilty to complicity to burglary, a third-degree felony.

CAREY — A discussion about moving Carey varsity softball games closer to the school did not result in a decision after a park board public hearing Sunday. MOUNT BLANCHARD — A proposed Blanchard River project to avoid flooding in Findlay could put some of the Riverdale school district’s property in jeopardy of flooding in case of a major rainfall. During the district’s regular board meeting on Monday, board member John Livingston said he and Board President Joan Beckwith recently attended a flood control meeting on the proposal to create a dam on Eagle Creek, Blanchard River and on Potato Run, the last of which would affect school property, he said.
