The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners heard a presentation Tuesday on a project created by the United States Department of Agriculture and Ohio Farm Bureau. Aaron Heiler, project manager for the Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network, shared a project primarily operated in Hardin and Hancock counties that aims at filtering water from farming operations before it reaches waterways that lead to the Blanchard River and eventually Lake Erie.

Upper Sandusky residents and business owners will see a steady increase in their sewer rates for at least the next two years. City Council on Monday night unanimously passed the first reading of an ordinance to increase the rates by $1 each year through 2019.
