Local officials and Veterans Heritage Foundation members met Thursday to discuss the beginning of a project to restore gravestones of Wyandot County veterans to their original state. The three Wyandot County commissioners, former commissioner Mike Wheeler, County Highway Superintendent Dave Courtad, Salem Township Trustee Ken Derr, foundation Director William Savidge, foundation Treasurer Tom Eyestone and foundation members Ben Morris and Jim Sharrett met at Inman Cemetery to discuss the best way to restore the gravesite of Reuben Inman.

Upper Sandusky school administrators suspended two high school student-athletes from their respective sports and removed another from a team 30 days after police found the students at a New Year’s Eve party where there were alcoholic beverages. And one parent questioned school board officials about the penalties and why it took the district so long to respond.

The Wyandot County Commissioners received updates on a project to build a new county garage behind the existing one on North Warpole. Wyandot County Engineer Mike Kohl told the commissioners that construction by Clouse Construction is set to begin in the spring.

TIFFIN — The Ritz Players will present “Fiddler on the Roof” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Feb. 25 and 2 p.m. Feb. 26 on the Ritz Theatre main state at 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. Chris Joyce, of Tiffin, is the director, and Laura Warren, Tiffin is the choreographer.

MARION — Lisa Biales will perform a live concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Marion Palace Theatre’s May Pavilion. Biales has become one of the hottest female singing acts in the blues world.

Motorists will need to be aware of their surroundings when approaching railroad crossings as new signage may have been placed some sets of tracks. Stop signs have been placed at 36 locations in Wyandot County as an implementation of state legislation from 2013.
