MARSEILLES — Two new council members were introduced at Marseilles Village Council’s regular meeting Tuesday. Scott Hensel and Brad Hensel took part in the meeting as active council members for the first time, filling vacancies made by the resignations of Henry Hensel and Cheryl Rhoades.

Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office A deputy told two brothers to go home after finding the juveniles at the fairgrounds in reference to a suspicious person call the afternoon of Jan. 29.

Sherry N. Sewell, Fremont, was transported from Sandusky County Jail on a bench warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court the morning of Jan. 22.

SYCAMORE — Law enforcement officials responded to a report of a small garage fire in Sycamore on Tuesday evening. Two people received minor misdemeanor citations for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia upon investigation. According to a report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to 334 Kilborn St. around 5:20 p.m. after the office received a call from a “passerby” about a garage fire.

HARPSTER — Harpster Village Council now has a vacant seat after its regular meeting Tuesday evening. Council was informed that member Tom Rose resigned from his seat effective immediately. Mayor James Robertson said he wished Rose the best and wanted to thank him for the years of service he provided.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Assistant prosecutors in Cleveland “ignored” about 70 rape and sexual assault cases involving juvenile suspects and victims and failed to determine if criminal charges should be filed, the new Cuyahoga County prosecutor said Tuesday. Prosecutor Michael O’Malley said additional sexual assault complaints involving juveniles are expected to be found in the coming weeks as his office continues …

CAREY — Forty-six Carey students were rewarded with district awards at the recent DECA District 3 Competitive Events Conference at Ohio Northern University. Of those 46, 34 qualified for the upcoming state DECA competition. “This is a very large number of state DECA qualifiers from district competition,” Carey DECA adviser Derek Cunningham said.

COLUMBUS — Grange Insurance has recognized the Reid Insurance Agency of Upper Sandusky as a leader in the insurance agency, awarding it Grange’s senior partner designation, according to a press release. Each year, Grange honors a select group of its independent agency partners by recognizing them with the title of senior partner.
