Jazmine S. Johnson, Columbus, was cited for speeding and driving under FRA suspension after a traffic stop on Ohio 15 near CH 95, Ridge Township, early the morning of Dec. 29. James L. Tong, Nevada, was arrested for obstructing official business the night of Dec. 29 after a caller requested a deputy check on his well being.

INDIANAPOLIS — Students from FFA chapters across Ohio recently attended the 212-degrees and 360-degrees Leadership Conferences. The conferences are activities of the National FFA Organization made possible by title sponsor Syngenta.

The Wyandot County FFA Chapters, including Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Upper Sandusky, currently are selling fresh strawberries. The proceeds from the sale will be used to conduct and support Wyandot County FFA activities.

FINDLAY — A special drawing will be held Saturday, March 18, at the Lake La Su An Wildlife Area headquarters for youth interested in turkey hunting, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Youth ages 17 and younger may participate.

REYNOLDSBURG — Forty-five individuals or organizations recently were recognized at the 92nd Ohio Fair Managers Association annual convention at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for outstanding service to their local fairs.

CAREY — Vaughn Industries attorney David Andrews spoke, and Carey council moved. The legal representative of the Carey electric company addressed council Monday for the second time in as many regular meetings.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners held a session Monday with representatives of Palmer Energy Company to discuss moving forward with a solar project at the Wyandot County farm. The farm is the location of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and dog shelter on Ohio 199.

Sycamore Village Solicitor James Gucker and Upper Sandusky attorney James Ruhlen will face off in the May 2 Republican primary race for Upper Sandusky Municipal Court judge. The winner’s name will go on the November ballot to replace Judge Thomas Osborn, who is retiring at the end of the year.

CAREY — One Democrat and one Republican submitted candidacy for Carey mayor ahead of the deadline for the upcoming primary election. The primary election is May 2. There are no contested primary races in Carey.

Wyandot County residents will decide whether to allow Sunday liquor sales at Automated Petroleum, 402 N. Warpole St., Upper Sandusky; and whether to renew a 1.3-mill operating levy for Tri-Rivers Joint Vocational School District.
