Driver due in court in police officer’s hit-and-run death

CLEVELAND (AP) — The driver accused in the fatal hit-and-run of a Cleveland patrolman on an interstate is set to appear in court. Wyandot, Crawford Co. landowners attend forum for open ditch project

SYCAMORE — Approximately 30 landowners or representatives attended a meeting at the Mohawk Community Library on Tuesday evening and heard a presentation by the Wyandot County Soil and Water Conservation District. A public forum was held to further inform landowners whose properties are located in a watershed that drains into a ditch with a proposed group project known as the Wahrer Group Ditch Reconstruction Project.

Village officials to discuss future of McCutchenville Fire Department

SYCAMORE — Fire brass and village officials will meet with McCutchenville Fire Chief Rob Miller on Monday to talk about Sycamore possibly taking over part of the McCutchenville Fire Department. Miller resigned late last year, but stepped back into the role temporarily while McCutchenville Fire decides what to do about the department’s future, Sycamore Fire and Rescue Chief Rod Clinger said following Tuesday night’s village council meeting.
