Christmas parade returns to Nevada

NEVADA — The spirit of Christmas returned to the village of Nevada with a holiday parade Sunday evening, the first in more than a decade. Volunteer organizers said the village has not hosted a parade since the early 2000s and they hope to make it an annual event again.

The village of Forest celebrated the second annual Charlie Brown Christmas Sunday with activities throughout the day. The lighting of the downtown Christmas display included holiday songs performed by A-Cap, an a-capella choir consisting of Riverdale High School students.

Man, 78, injured in US 23 crash

An Upper Sandusky man was injured in a crash at the Ohio 199 South junction of U.S. 23 in Pitt Township on Sunday afternoon. James L. Racheter, 78, was traveling north on the highway when he went off the left side of the exit ramp, came back on the road and then went off the right side, striking a ditch.

Cases tried in Upper municipal court

John G. Gillen, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with falsification, pleaded no contest, pre-sentence investigation ordered. Jatia L. Green, Columbus, charged by the sheriff with child endangerment in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, continued to Dec. 8.

Wyandot County properties transferred

Michael D. Walter and Kathy S. Walter to Tessa E. Stone and Michael P. Stone, property in Upper Sandusky. Jon M. Karg and Pamela S. Karg to Tedd D. Stief, Anne B. Stief, Todd F. Stief trustee, Anja M. Stief trustee and Stief living trust, 1/2 interest in 63.044 acres in Crawford Township.

Marquis J. Arnold, Columbus, was cited for driving under suspension and speed following a traffic stop on Ohio 15 near Ohio 103, Carey, early the morning of Sept. 1. Larry A. Foust, Mount Blanchard, was charged with domestic menacing after deputies responded to a dispute in the 6000 block of CH 157, Richland Township, the morning of Sept. 1.
