An Upper Sandusky woman was transported to Wyandot Memorial Hospital with possible injuries after she drove into a creek in the 7000 block of CH 97 in Salem Township on Friday night. Penny J. Minard, 39, was traveling southbound on CH 97 when she went off the left side of the roadway, struck a mailbox, continued southbound through a hayfield and drove into a creek, according to a report by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

Ghosts. Just the word can make your heart race. Thousands of ghost sightings and recordings have been reported throughout the world since the beginning of time. If just one of those reports is true, then ghosts exist. And Wyandot County is not exempt.

Local senior citizens had an opportunity to get information about “Living Smart” and “Aging Strong” at the annual senior expo Thursday sponsored by the Wyandot County Council on Aging.

A Sycamore native returned to Wyandot County as a representative of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office consumer protection section to share information about ongoing financial fraud targeting senior citizens.

With more than 1,000 pounds of produce picked from the community garden in Upper Sandusky during a year with little rain, locally grown food did not need a lot of help growing in 2016.

During Thursday’s senior expo, a representative of the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel shared tips for saving energy and money on utility bills within households, and a Sycamore native returned to Wyandot County as a representative of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office to share information about senior citizen scams.

The sewer separation project continues on West Wyandot Avenue in the block between Seventh and Eighth streets.

Ricahrd A. Bendele, Carey, charged by the Carey police with improperly handling a firearm; and by the police with possession of marijuana and possession of open beer in a motor vehicle, pleaded guilty, found guilty.
