A local small business received a visitor Monday afternoon from the Trump presidential campaign. The Donald Trump campaign in Ohio requested a visit by Eric Trump, son of the Republican presidential nominee, to the Ithaca Gun Company location on North Warpole Street.

Upper Sandusky City Council welcomed its newest member, received an update on a major infrastructure project and approved the first reading of three pieces of legislation Monday evening. Mayor Scott Washburn swore in Ken Wessler, whom the mayor appointed two weeks ago after a non-binding recommendation from council.

COLUMBUS — Two teams from the Upper Sandusky FFA recently placed 11th at the state level in the annual soil judging competition.

NELSONVILLE — Earlier this month, the Upper Sandusky FFA took eighth place out of 37 teams and 239 individuals in the state forestry career development event at Hocking College, Nelsonville.

The Upper Sandusky Fire Department concluded last week’s Fire Prevention Week with an open house for area children to learn more about the equipment used by firefighters. Upon arrival, children were able to choose between a pink or red firefighter helmet and given stickers and a goodie bag.
