Area firefighters spent about three and a half hours working to extinguish a blaze Wednesday afternoon at Dlubak Glass Company on CH 110. No injuries were reported in the fire that started in an outside material storage area, according to a report by the Upper Sandusky Fire Department.

Midstate Contractors continues work on the Wyandot County Courthouse renovation project, with yard work beginning today and some scaffolding on the main tower beginning to come down as paint is applied, project supervisor Steve Gilmore said during an update meeting Wednesday.

Evelyn Miller, Upper Sandusky, was cited for a red light violation after a non-injury accident at the intersection of West Wyandot Avenue and Eighth Street on Aug. 17.

ADA — Ohio Northern University’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts will present “Edges” at 7:30 p.m. from Sept. 24-27 with additional shows at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 25 and 2 p.m. Sept. 27.

A caller reported four vehicles had been left parked in the lot at Apostolic Gospel Church the morning of Aug. 16.

U.S. Navy Commander Matthew Arnold is returning to Upper Sandusky after a 20-year career in the military. Originally from Upper Sandusky, Arnold graduated from Ohio State University in June 1994 and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in October 1995 at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.

A local businessman is heading up a new Harvest Day festival from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 3 at Mid Ohio Chiropractic and Acupuncture, 714 N. Sandusky Ave. Kevin Lok said he wanted to start a Harvest Day festival after the discontinuation of the former Cornhuskers Festival in Wyandot County.

Upper Sandusky-based Wyandot Counseling Associates has undergone a big change with the new ownership of Anna and Michael Trausch as of July 1. Former owners George and Lana Sakash, who have spent decades in the field of mental health and recovery services, will continue on the staff for now.

Upper Sandusky-based Kalmbach Feeds Inc. has reached an agreement with Cumberland Valley Cooperative, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, that was approved by shareholders of CVC for Kalmbach to acquire a majority of its assets.
