Wyandot Memorial Hospital has been given the first Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace award by the Wyandot County Women, Infants and Children program for its support of breastfeeding mothers, from those who give birth at the hospital to staff members.

A Marion girl was charged with failure to control after driving a 2002 Honda Civic into a private pond on Ohio 67 on Sunday morning, and the driver and passenger both exited the vehicle before it sank to the bottom of the pond.

Upper Sandusky officials will review legislation passed in April in the village of Sycamore and ask officials there for input as it moves forward with potentially toughening a lawn maintenance ordinance. A committee is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in council chambers to discuss changes to the city’s yard maintenance ordinance, Councilwoman Roxie Karg said during Monday’s regular council meeting.

CAREY — The 35th annual Carey Fest is set for Thursday through Saturday with the theme “Let’s Party.” There will be a wide variety of music throughout the event, including country, rock, jazz, folk, bluegrass and gospel.

Breanna M. Donald, Elyria, was cited for window tint and charged with possession of marijuana the night of June 9 after a traffic stop on U.S. 23 near the East Wyandot Avenue exit ramp.

Hundreds of people lined up Saturday for the fifth annual run and walk to benefit Open Door Resource Center, a Christian-based nonprofit that assists Wyandot County residents in need.
