Break-ins, vandalism reported

Several vehicles were reported broken into Friday morning in the Ohio Cat parking lot in the 1800 block of East Wyandot Avenue, Upper Sandusky, and deputies responded to reports of vandalism to vehicles Saturday morning in the village of Wharton in separate incidents.

St. Peter School summer festival

Activities for the St. Peter School summer festival will take place Friday and Saturday, starting with a 5K glow run and walk at Upper Sandusky’s Stepping Stones Park. Pre-festival activities include the run and walk, which starts at 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Wind turbine coming to Harpster

HARPSTER — One Energy Wind for Industry, Findlay, is funding more than $3 million for a wind turbine project at the location of Marathon Petroleum Company’s Harpster pump station. The turbine will generate more than 4 million kilowatt-hours annually and will offset more than half of the station’s electric consumption, according to a press release from One Energy.

TOLEDO — The bus had no traffic to deal with early Thursday morning as Wyandot County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center marketing director Vicki Charlton drove to Sycamore, Bucyrus and Upper Sandusky to pick up five area veterans and their guardians for a special trip. Eddie Doss and his daughter Deb Kuhn, Bob Keller and his son Jay Keller, Flavel Heyman, Earl Kinley and his daughter Becky Howard and Wes Honsberger traveled to Findlay and meet with a much larger group for the Flag City Honor Flight.

Man treks across US

Jared Reichbaum is on a mission. He walked into Upper Sandusky Thursday evening, camped at Lincoln Hills Golf Course and spent Friday taking a break from his journey to play a few rounds of golf, after seven days of walking about 120 miles.
