Residents, canoe enthusiasts want action after deaths at low-head dam A rural Upper Sandusky couple visited city council Monday evening to express concern over a dangerous low-head dam that has been the site of three boating fatalities in the past two and a half years. Council hears 1st reading for garbage truck purchase Upper Sandusky City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance authorizing the purchase of a garbage truck during its regular meeting Monday evening after years of planning. The 2016 Mack cab and chassis and Leach garbage packer plus accessories will be purchased through a federal purchasing program, according to the ordinance, and include a trade-in of $30,000 for a total purchase price of $168,169.62.
