2 hired for solid waste management

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners signed a resolution Monday to hire one full-time and one part-time skilled laborer at the Wyandot County Solid Waste Management District. Jason Gillespie was hired for full time at a rate of $12 an hour, beginning July 6, and John Burgess for a rate of $10.50 an hour.

Construction halts and starts again at new Carey school

CAREY — Construction work at the new school site for Carey Exempted Village Schools came to a halt Monday as Gilbane Inc., the firm managing the construction of the new facility, locked out workers because of “non-payment services,” according to a press release issued by the school district Monday.

Company approved for tax credit

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved a 55 percent, nine-year job creation tax credit to bring Halla Visteon Climate Control USA LLC to the village of Carey. According to a press release from the Ohio Department of Development, the company expects to create 139 full-time positions, generating $5.2 million in annual payroll as a result of its new project in Carey.
