NEW WASHINGTON — Mohawk had a six-point halftime lead on a team tied for second place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference, but Buckeye Central shut out the Warriors in the third quarter and took a 44-36 victory on Saturday night.

PLYMOUTH — Three Upper Sandusky wrestlers won championships, and the Rams finished third Saturday in the Plymouth Invitational. Edison was the team champion with 214.5 points, with Upper Sandusky scoring 192.5 points. South Central was third with 182.5 points.

BUCYRUS — Gretchen Harris had 11 points, and the Wynford girls basketball team took an easy 57-24 victory against winless Ridgedale on Saturday. Sarah Ogden added nine points, and 13 different players scored for the Royals (5-7, 4-5 N10).

CAREY — Cody Ferguson and Marcus O’Flaherty both had two pins as Carey defeated Lakota, 54-18, and lost to Findlay B, 36-33, in a wrestling tri-match Friday evening. Ferguson (160 pounds) had pins in 1:28 and 3:34, and O’Flaherty (220) had pins in 3:05 and 1:59.

Upper Sandusky outplayed the second best team in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference in every area it seemed. It netted 10 more field goals. It created turnovers.

SYCAMORE — When teams hit shots, basketball is easier. Mohawk hits shots when it plays good defense as it did Friday night in a 54-31 victory against Crestline. The Warriors were strong on both ends of the floor and gradually pulled away.

NEW WASHINGTON — Wynford did not have an answer for Grant Loy in a 52-38 loss to Buckeye Central on Friday. Loy had 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting to help the Bucks (7-4, 5-2 N10) hang onto third place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference and drop the Royals down to fifth.

ATTICA — Abel LaRoche scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Carey to a 63-58 victory against Seneca East on Friday night. The Tigers (3-8, 1-6 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) led 13-9 after one quarter, but the Blue Devils (5-5, 4-3 N10) took over in the second quarter and led 29-25 at halftime and took a 42-38 lead into the fourth quarter.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Tommy Dusseau scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds but the Riverdale boys basketball team fell, 52-42, against North Baltimore in a Blanchard Valley Conference game Friday. Riverdale (3-8, 0-5 BVC) won the first quarter, 14-12, before being outscored in the middle quarters, 31-13.

SYCAMORE — After dropping a 5-4 decision, Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church B won 8-2 and 6-4 against Sycamore United Methodist Church in Wyandot County Church Dartball League play Thursday.
