Mohawk’s Brayden Dunlap and Dave Myers earned top honors on The All-Daily Chief-Union golf team as player and coach of the year, respectively. Dunlap was joined on the All-DC-U team by teammates Chet Margraf and Carson Weinandy, Carey’s Marcus Miller and Alex Kimmet and Upper Sandusky’s Tommy Martin.

BUCYRUS — With Wynford and Delta wanting to run the ball, both coaches agree, the key will be who wins at the line of scrimmage Saturday night. The No. 8 seed Panthers (6-4) feature a pair of running backs with more than 900 yards each, while the top-seeded Royals (9-1) have a running back and quarterback who have gone over 1,000 yards on the ground.

The Upper Sandusky girls tennis team recently handed out awards for the past season.

Riverdale’s Tristian Davis and Dakota Gray earned second-team honors, and Evan McKee was a third-team selection on the All-Blanchard Valley Conference football team. Davis, a junior, was selected as an athlete on offense.

Seven Riverdale seniors earned Academic All-Blanchard Valley Conference honors. They were Taylor Farmer, Aricka Hill and Taylor Kuenzli from volleyball, Joe Lauck and Austin Miller from football and Aubreah Manns and Tiffany Penwell from cross country.  

CAREY — Novermber’s early sun set cast long shadows over the field where the Carey cross country team trained, as Trevor Cook led a pack of six runners in a brisk jog to end practice Tuesday. It was calm and warm for the time of year.

Five area players, including three from Mohawk, were named to the All-Northwest District Golf Coaches Association team.
