CAREY — It was nice for Carey to be back on its home course and even better to come away champions in all four divisions Thursday in the Carey Run. The Blue Devils were forced off their home course while the new school building was under construction, but the race returned to Carey this year, with the varsity boys running away with a 16-53 advantage over Van Buren and the girls winning 23-34 over Riverdale.

Van Buren scored three goals in the second half of a 4-1 boys soccer victory over Upper Sandusky in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. Hunter Stone put the go-ahead goal past Anson Hill off an assist by Tom Piccirillo nearly five minutes into the second half to give the Black Knights (8-2, 4-0 NCOSA) the lead for good.

FINDLAY — Upper Sandusky pushed Liberty-Benton in every set but lost, 25-23, 27-25, 25-23, on Thursday night.

BUCYRUS — After an 0-10 start, Bucyrus won its second straight match by defeating Wynford, 25-18, 25-11, 25-18, on Thursday night. Tara Zinser led the Royals (4-10, 3-6 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) with seven kills on 19-of-20 hitting, and Gabby Grove had six kills on 21-of-26 hitting.

NORTH ROBINSON — Carey lost on the road for the fifth time this season Thursday, falling in straight sets at Colonel Crawford, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18. Four of Carey’s five losses have been in three sets.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton shut Riverdale out, 2-0, in a non-league soccer match Thursday. Eli Bourassa scored an unassisted goal at the 30:24 mark in the first half, and Josh Begg added an unassisted tally at 37:33 in the second half.

Upper Sandusky’s girls were third and the boys were sixth Thursday in the Upper Sandusky Middle School Elks Invitational at Harrison Smith Park. Findlay Glenwood was the boys winner, winning a sixth-runner tiebreaker with Findlay St. Michael’s after both teams scored 68 points.

Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery was player of the year, and Mohawk’s Dave Myers was coach of the year for the third straight season in the release Wednesday of the All-Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf teams. Myers led the Warriors to their third N10 championship in a row, with the team also winning its third straight tournament title.

NEW CONCORD — Rhieannae Cory, a 2016 Wynford graduate, is starting as a setter for the Muskingum University volleyball team. Eleven games into her freshman season, she leads the team in assists, is third on the team in service aces and fourth in digs.

KALIDA — Van Buren dominated as it has all season, setting a school and course record with a 294 to win the Blanchard Valley Conference golf tournament Wednesday at Country Acres Golf Course in Kalida. Liberty-Benton took second with a 310, with McComb a distant third with a 358.
