By now, teams know exactly what is coming. They just don’t have an answer for it. Upper Sandusky’s defensive pressure and fast-paced offense overwhelmed Mohawk in the first half, and the Rams ran away with an 80-42 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball play Monday night.

Allen McLaughlin bowled his first 300 on Dec. 13 in a city tournament at Wyandot Lanes. His previous high was a 298 in February.

GALION — Upper Sandusky’s girls swimming team edged Galion, 52-40, but the Tigers boys prevailed, 63-31, in a dual Monday afternoon at the Galion YMCA. Jaelynn Summit won the 50 free in 28.05, Kami Swartz was first in the 200 free in 2:20.08, Amber Cox took the top spot in the 100 back in 1:18.53, and Abbey Wenger was the 100 breast winner in 1:23.33.

MARION — Angeline got off to a slow start and lost, 71-32, against the Marion County Hawks on Monday. Marion County built a 47-11 halftime lead.

Upper Sandusky’s junior high wrestling team competed in the Little Warrior Tournament on Saturday. Dylan Bryan led the Rams with a first-place finish.

CAREY — Buckeye Central had mixed results against Carey’s pressure, but its defense was steady throughout, and the Bucks ran away with a 62-43 victory Saturday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game.

BUCYRUS — Another game, another double-digit win for Upper Sandusky. And a second straight win by more than 50 points.

KENTON — An ice-cold shooting performance in the second and third quarters from Kenton opened a window for Riverdale to take charge and grab the 62-43 win in a girls basketball contest Saturday afternoon. The visiting Falcons outscored the home team 26-12 in the middle two quarters, with the Wildcats converting just one field goal during the stretch.

ATTICA — Brayden Dunlap and Alex Jeffrey each scored 14 points as Mohawk held off Seneca East, 54-42, on Saturday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game. After falling behind 19-13 in the first quarter, the Warriors held Seneca East to just 23 points the rest of the way.

FREMONT — Upper Sandusky’s girls captured the championship, and the boys finished third Saturday in the Streak Invitational hosted by Fremont St. Joseph at Fremont Ross. The Rams girls scored 471.5 points, with Huron taking second with 393.5 points.
